In real life degradation problems one possible strategy is to define the maintenance
programs by the actual condition of the structure. This is described in detail in [1]. The task is
to understand the approach and to implement it in R, as well as to create a simulator
program, where the degradation is modelled by a random onset time and a gamma process,
as in [2]. The results can be then applied to biostatistics as well, where a disease plays a role
of degradation.
