Transport theory is about the allocation of resources. We have some sources and some sinks, also weighted routes from one to the other. This can be stated in a continuous form by looking for an area preserving function between two regions. In its most general form the goal is an optimal map between two measures. For now we will concentrate on the two dimensional continuous case, for very simlpe shapes, and very simple relative positions. To better understand what is happening, the goal for this semester is to write a program to check what happens if we approximate the continuous form by discretizing with an increasingly fine grid.
